Bouncing back is all about resilience. Resilience means you can have a tough day, but you don’t stay down. You get back up and get stronger each time. When people, communities, or ecosystems are resilient, they overcome obstacles and bounce back from hard times. Resilience can help a person get through tough times, such as personal loss, injury, or illness. If your community is resilient, it can recover from issues such as food shortages or natural disasters. Resilient ecosystems survive even when the environment changes or populations shift. Climate resilience helps our planet recover from the damage caused by climate change and restore the climate to a healthy state. Resilient food systems help communities provide safe, nutritious, and accessible food for all despite environmental, economic, or social shocks.
